"There is no progress in art, any more than there is progress in making love. There are simply different ways of doing it." Man Ray

why are people so unkind?

angry xmas
thanks to andy hamilton for the pic
we have all just gone through it..... chaotic shopping centres, full car parks, christmas bargains...... and it makes you wonder why it is exactly we all go through this 'happy' time of the year?

allow me to share a story with you about my introduction to this festive season. it was the 24th of december and i was off to my brother in law's gym to do a last workout before the feasting began. it was about 10 o'clock in the morning so both myself and brett were in good moods, however both surprised by the lack of car parks available (the gym is adjoined to a shopping centre). so we started doing the crawl around waiting to spot someone walking towards their car when we come around the corner to a complete stop as two cars are buying for the same spot. neither would give way so it was a complete stalemate.

with that the original car drives out and one of the waiting cars parks length ways in front of the car park. this begins a verbal onslaught from both parties

"you &*()head!!! we were here first!!"
"oh &*() off ya &*(), it was clearly ours!!"
"you blah blah blah......" and on it goes.

the rest of us were just stuck watching this take place. eventually one gives way and finds another park down further which prompts me think 'it's just a car park'. but it doesn't end there!! they both park at the same time, get out of their respective cars and take off into the shopping centre continuing the argument that they started in the car park. thankfully the rest of us saw the funny side to it and had to have a bit of a chuckle at the absurdity of it.

once we all got through this part of the 'yukky' christmas, it was on with the family celebrations and a distant memory of the car park shenanigans.

Hi Jonathon,

Christmas....when irony is at it's greatest.

I have a friend who is Russian Orthodox and she'll be celebrating Christmas on 7 January....I think she might be onto something.

Love & stuff

Hi Jon...

In the beginning there were placid races... until the reptillians came here on their space ships and mated with the peacful races... then all hell broke loose around December 24th?

No? ...okay, how about ...

Every year people celbrate being lied to, by expressing their rage, whilst smiling at the santa camera?

hmmm, I'm sure there was another reason, I've just forgotten...
